Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway

I know I'm not alone when I say that I've had to push myself into doing things that absolutely scare me. Have you? Like, you really want to try something or even put yourself out there, but you're unsure of the outcome?

Well, two dear friends of mine, Christina and Mallory, reached out and invited me to be a vendor at an event their organization, VIBE, was hosting. I was actually surprised to even be invited as a vendor because I had never played such a role in my life! I had no idea what I would display or demo or even which brand, Do-It-All Designer or SHAPESHIFTERS, I would promote. I was apprehensive about saying "yes" to this opportunity and was on the verge of walking...no running...away.

My nerves were so bad and, if you know anything about me, you know I tend to procrastinate. I went ahead and paid the vendor fee and decided to walk out on faith after seeking Christina's advice on how to pull this off.

Moving at the last minute, I gathered all of the art that I created over the last couple of years, clothing included. I considered my brand colors and how I wanted to present myself and my brand to the VIBE following.

My beautiful sister was there to help me the day of, helping me run the table and sell my merchandise. Her support and encouragement was everything that I needed.

I was able to sell almost all of the clothing pieces that I brought with me to the event. My masks sold, and even my new line of scrunchies. I had no idea how successful I would be at executing this, but it happened and I'm glad I took the risk. I was scared of falling flat on my face, but I did it anyway.

If you are scared to do or try something you're passionate about, do it anyway. There are worse things in life than "failing" and take it from me. Everything's a learning experience and take it from me, it will be worth it.
